To Freddie experts,
I was wondering if anyone knows the source of the following article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Freddie_Mercury#Newspaper_profile_of_Asian_background
I was wondering if anyone knew in what year it was written (I think it was in 2000) and in what newspaper. I also wondered if there existed good copy of the original article on the internet.

The article is dated 11/1996, which might give a clue as to when it was written. ;)
That's not really a very tough question seeing as the title in fact says - THE GREAT PRETENDER (11/1996 Sunday London Times article)
Obviously somebody (Lord Fickle?) added the source and date of the article after Iloveyouforeverfreddie posted her question.
I've just checked the Sunday Times Magazine of 17.11.96, and this isn't it, so you're back to square one.
Personally I wouldn't trust the updated source info on that site any more than I'd trust it to tell me the colours of the US flag...

And how was I supposed to have done that exactly? I can assure you I don't write the Wikipedia, and have no means of editing it! The date was there when I clicked the link.

I've read this article and it can be easily found on the internet. The front page of the sunday times magazine featured a huge pic of freddie when he was 13 or 14 and the heading was "The Star of India". There's lots of pics in it for the FM picture exhibition thing that took place in some art gallery in London around the time of this article's release.

I'm not accusing you of doing anything wrong or malicious. It's just that the wink at the end of your initial post suggested to me you maybe had involvement in the editing of the article.
I just wanted to point out how the original poster could seemingly ask such a ridiculous question when the answer was seemingly screaming at her from the page.
