Hi all,
I placed this one once in the "Announce" forum on Queenzone, but it has snowed under a bit and also the link at Rapidshare is not working
There is this guy, Martin (who now lives in England he told me), who made a version of "The Business" that is so freaky close to Brian's way of playing and the sound that Martin gets out of his guitar is just breathtaking ...
I first thought I was listening to a demo of Brian (!!!) , but it was completely done by this guy himself...
Well judge for yourself, in my opinion this is just way awesome!

if the link doesnt work go to his site:

(and choose K'z The Business MP3)
Stefan
PS leave your opinion please on the messageboard. If you think it's crap, well put it here also ;)
I think you will all love it!
PS2 some of you might have already downloaded or heard this, if not do not hesitate to download it, you wont regret it!

I had the same feeling. Absolutely amazing…
I have already heard this, and find if difficult to believe it's not Brian. It could easily be his stunt double!
It's always pretty amazing to hear someone who is obviously genuinely talented. Fantastic work. Now if we could get a cover from this guy over here, then we could really party!
Peace,
Adam.

Well Adam,
why not ask martin, lets continue this thread and come up with something he could try to re-record himself ...

Here's an idea - let Martin record the new Queen album, and leave Brian to concentrate on the rest of the DVD-As, so we can do some more remixes! Lol!
I want this guys guitar.
Having listened to "The Business", I don't actually know he's that close to Brian's technique. He's very good, but I think he sounds more like someone else. Don't ask me who, I'm crap with names.
Still, very nice sound... I would love to play with one of these things for a day.

Just listened to pretty much all of his stuff, he's one impressive guitarist, but I don't know that he's that much like Brian May. I know I'm outnumbered on that score, but meh - to me it sounds like someone else playing a Red Special.
May I reiterate, I like this guy and I'd love to jam with him :D

Zebonka12, I agree in a way ... he does have some technique of his own (or his own way of playing), but I think this version is one of the closest attempts to sound like Brian May or let's say the sound of his red special ...
I think his guitar really "sings" , and I read somewhere that he uses professional microphones as well to record his guitar ...
Anyway, I am not really meaning that Martin plays like Brian 100%, but he comes extremely close to the way he plays it

Sounds really good. Send the file to Brian, he will love this!
Rick,
I sent it to Brian, and I got a first positive response back from Jen (who runs the site as you know) ... She requested me to send her the file (since I dont just send a file to Brian's Soapbox) .
She said she would pass it on to Brian (or better said: would try to pass it on) ...
Until now (2 weeks ago) no response yet... But I honestly think Brian will like it :)

Well, the Red Special copy might help... :D
He's a damn fine player though.
