...students and intellectuals were protesting in Bucharest against the 2nd rank communists who took advantage of the revolution and took over power. The nice (ex)president and his people (at that time - FSN The Front of National Salvation, then PSDR - The Romanian Social Democratic Party, and now PSD The Social Democratic Party), arranged that some nice miners should come and disperse the "punks" who, so they said, were the enemies of the people, kick their arses, beat them to death, create anarchy,etc, using the very nice slogan "we work, we do not think". The nice "democratic government" created very nasty campaigns against the protesters (communist-regime like...). Most of them (the "punks") are now adults, probably have already left Romania ages ago, and the youth has lost any hope that things can go better here.

I just had to say this, cause these things are kept quiet (inside and outside Romania), and young people are confused about what really happened, and believe the (former) leading party...
Hopefully things will go better and people will know the truth about the disgusting history of totalitarian regimes.

"Good" to read some Romanian history.. A lot happened there, things we can't imagine here in Hollland. I should read more soon!
Romania was a typical (or very bad actually) communist dictatorial system. Being a person who thinks on your own was a crime against the state. Many people mock these systems, or they treat me superficially, but believe me, living in a country that has passed through communism (I did live IN THE SYSTEM too, and I was very little and I actually wanted to be one of them... I mean be a part of the system... :S), and can see the scars, and open wounds, it is disgusting and it makes me sick. I still want to be here, and try to fix things... I kinda feel guilty for not being at least 15 years older to participate in the Revolution. :(
Well, you can't feel yourself guilty about something you can't control... Age for example. There's still a lot to do there. You can still make yourself important for your country!!
umm... start a new revolution?... me and 2 or 3 other people left in Romania who think for themselves and have guts....

Socialists you mean? I'm a lef winger, yes... but I also fight for human rights... so no, I would not fight against my principles!
We both know we'll never agree on this. Call me narrowminded, but the last thing I can associate socialism/communism with human rights.

I'll never call you narrowminded. I know the difference between your country and mine. The socialists here are not real socialists and far from communists. You'll see it when I show you my country ;)
