Staying Power & Say It's Not True

What are these songs about? And please don't say AIDS.

Say it's not true is about receiving a letter telling you whether your application to Univerity was succesful or not. Staying Power is about AIDS I'm affraid...

As far as i'm aware SAY IT'S NOT TRUE is certainly about aids and the suffering it bring's if you are a queen fan you will know this from the queen plus paul rodgers concerts, roger does state this at most of the gigs.

Staying power could be about the strength of the band as a unit but then again it could also be about relationships.

I was actually just kidding, I know SINT is about AIDS, but not what SP means.

Say It's Not True: well it *is* about AIDS. It's written by Roger for Nelson Mandela's 46664 project, but somehow I think you know that already. It's about how the disease can devastate a life, how it can happen to anyone, and how unfair it is that people in poor countries cannot get the same treatment as we can in the west. Since the song doesn't specifically mention AIDS, it could be about any life threatening disease.

Brenda's right. According to Mr Freestone the song was going to be called "F***ing power"- i think it reflected Fred's "tastes" at the time. I love the live version- it's so energetic.

According to Peter Freestone one of the working titles of SP was 'Fuc*ing Power', so, well, it says it all!

I also heard that. In a biography i have written that Freddie was really into the Munich gay scene when queen were recording Hot Space. Brian didn't like some lyrics Freddie wrote so some things were changed....Makes me wonder if their are more out-takes apart from the available ones
