I think Innuendo is a magnificent album and the first they released during the Queen revisionist era when pretentious music magazines began to realise the band's greatness. Consequently reviews were desrvingly positive. It was almost a miracle for me- I never thought- depsite the undoubted strength of The Miracle- that Queen would ever release a hard rock, orchestral masterpiece again, and they did.

Freddie recorded songs as he was dying because he wanted the music to go on. Yes, some of the MIH songs were recorded earlier, and some are solo works revisited. So? MIH may not be the be all, end all of Queen albums, but it's a work of love from the band we love. I simply do not get the fuss.

Of course Made In Heaven is a labour of love etc etc and it's wonderful etc etc but imo it doesn't count as a Queen album. It's more a remix of old things plus three 1991 tracks.
In 1993 Brian said they were gonna release en EP since there were only few tracks done after Innuendo. But I guess they would've earned much more bread & honey with an entire album so there you go ;)

This album is one of the greatest statements in rock history, Queen found here all the elements from the past and mix them, it's a beautiful recordin, only a few "last album" by any artist exist, comes to my mind "Abbey Road" "Pink Moon". And i really don't get all this crappy controversy about what is the last queen album or when queen die, the topic is clear "Innuendo 15 years old today", so, talk bout music and their legacy in it.
Innuendo is an album full of energy, passion, love and a little of nostalgia, Mercury imo never sounds so fantastic and so organic than here, it's for me his best performance ever, besides his illnes, his voice is pure magic.

I'm not sure what I think about Made In Heaven.
If all the tracks were from 1991 Freddie vocals that the band finished the music for over 93/94/95 then I'd see it as no different than any other Queen album. But the fact that they took vocals from old songs that Freddie didn't even intend to be Queen songs when he recorded them spoils it a bit for me.
It also ruins the chronological order of the albums, listening to each album and seeing how freddie's voice and the playing and writing styles of each member developed across the 15 albums, if the 15th album has vocals and song compositions from all random years on it.
However, they didn't have enough songs to fill an album, and Freddie's vocals were wasted anyway in Roger's so-so solo version of Heaven For Everyone and Freddie's not-all-that solo versions of Made In Heaven and I Was Born To Love You. And the resulting album we got was fantastic if you just listen to the songs and not quibble about how/when they were made. And it's certainly Queen, because it was written and peformed by Freddie, Brian, John and Roger. What more do you have to do to be classed as Queen??? The question is whether it's a Queen compilation, a Queen original studio album, or what.
My take is that the music is all new (new as in post Innuendo), some of the vocal are new, and the rest of the vocals can be seen as samples.
So I have no trouble seeing this as the 15th Queen album (or 14th if you don't count Flash), though as I said it is annoying when you're trying to think about how Freddie's voice was sounding in 1991 and you remember this particular vocal is from the 80s.
Regarding the actual subject of this thread, I love Innuendo. I remember my mum getting it when it was released (ditto the miracle). The OTT approach to the album does sort of hark back to albums 1-5 but in a totally new way. It was fitting that the last (ish) album gave a nod to the first few, but did so without going back over old ground. And I LIKE Deliliah.

I'm not into it that Let Me Live is from 1983 and It's a beautiful day is from 1980...where did you get your information? Freddie's voice on both those songs sounds like 1987-1988 at the earliest...
That's why I feel MIH isn't an album but a compilation: chronology. Same as Rocks: there's one new song plus some re-worked bits for the others but that's it. Otoh everything in MIH is "new": new version of I Was Born, new version of My Life Has Been Saved, new (=previously unreleased) version of Too Much Love, new (previously unknown by most) version of Beautiful Day, etc.

Well, I worked out a little while back that IABD was from the Game recordings and then a few months later it was confirmed by Greg/Brian. You just have to be able to understand the sound and the vocal quality to get the answer.
If you genuinly believe those two tracks are from 1987/88 then, compare tracks from Barcelona and Miracle tracks. That should prove interesting listening. You'll notice the difference for sure.
