Hey guys,

I'm looking for a good program to mix in surround, i have Steinberg Soft Encode, but it's annoying cause you have to load 5 mono waves, and i want to mix in real time.
And with soft encode I can hear the result when it's mixed. Thats annoying.

I have some 5.1 plugins for Cubase, but for some reason when I pan to the surround speakers I don't hear anything. also DVD's don't play in surround on my computer. But I CAN play ac3 files, also when i encoded them with Soft Encode.

Any help please.
My soundcard is a Creative Live 5.1

I mix surround in Sony Vegas. I've done it with video and audio projects. Pretty good stuff.

And that lets you render out AC3 files, too.

Peace,
Adam.

Actually, I'm just back from the college studio with Pro Tools - Surround. Very nice, if a little tricky to edit your pan moves. Still, it's now something I'm thinking about integrating at home. M-powered M-audio cards allow such magic with a little (ahem) jiggery pokery!
