Crazy Little Thing called love

Could I ask fellow Queenzoners about this song when it wa spalyed live on the Crazy and Game tours. How did it sound without the piano on it? The first keyboard palyer Queen had was in 1982 so the song must have been held back a bit until then.

Wouldn't Freddie have played the piano parts?

The piano was hardly an integral part of performing th esong, it was just more like the Hammer To Fall "jam" bit at the end - Brian solos more..

It was an integral part of the song actually- not the studio rendition where it does not appear but live certainly. You can hear Spike Edney and Fred Mandel etc. on the verses and they add a different texture to it- more than just a jamming cameo role as a previous person seems to think.

It must have been very bland without the piano- I was neve ra great fan of the studio version- it was almost too simple but the piano added so much..

I did neglect to post a moderately sarcastic response about the ease with which one could probably locate a pre-82 performance for oneself as an attempt to improve the quality of my posts, but if you claim that a piano was integral to a live performance of CLTCL again I will point at you at laugh...

I don't think the quality of my posts has anything to do with it sir- though if you wish to make insinuations, I would be all too happy to point you in the right direction. Clearly you have very little appreciation of just what impact the piano had and don't like being corrected which is fine by me- not all of us have the maturity yet.Unless you are very deaf, it surpises me that you could not hear the rollicking piano of fred Mandel in the verses of the live song- you quite incorrectly state that it only played a part in the jamming towards the end. And as for accessing a pre-1982 performance; you know not all of us are technology mad.

You've misread my post, and the VHS of Montreal '81 is hardly technologically advanced.

So I have, I'm truly sorry. But how do I buy the montreal concert; it doesn't seem to be available in the UK now.

You could import the DVD very easily, or pick up the VHS for no money at all on ebay, in second hand stores, or at car boots.
