Question: How could your favorite not be also the best?

The beatles were NOT better than Queen. No way.

Queen is much better than the Beatles.

Beatles were OVERRATED.

[/QUOTE]Favorite is just what you perfer. My favorite movie to come out last year was Sin City, but I wouldn't give it Best Picture. Same goes for music; I enjoy Queen's music more, but I wouldn't call them the best band of all time - that title is reserved for the Beatles.

Anyone who calls the Beatles overrated either hasn't actually listened to the Beatles, or is hating for the sake of hating.
This is what you wanted, this is what you're going to get.
I like Trivium on the same level as I like Queen.Nothin beats them
Pink Floyd and Rush are tied with Queen in my musical trinity.
"Spread your wings and fly away, fly away, far away!", "No one makes me sing lullabies and no one makes me close my eyes"
thing is will anyone ever beat 'the beatles'? queen are the best thing since rock was invented but the beatles are just obscenely fantastic there riffs, melodies, songwriting, and overall charisma is there for everone to see.

Alright guys... the voice of authority has spoken!

Right, so, The Beatles... nobody will ever top the cultural impact of The Beatles. No rational person can deny this impact, and thus it cannot be denied that no band will ever be bigger than The Beatles. In only 7 years, they created some of the greatest pop-oriented music the world will ever hear.

Queen are my favourite band. Tied for second in my books are Dream Theater, Rush, and Yes, and third are Led Zeppelin and The Beatles.

News flash:

TeaKettleResurrection is thinking about posting something new and refreshing on Queenzone, although this person's current posts aren't reflecting that inner consideration. All eyes are on the lookout.

but in my opinion
1. The Beatles
2. Queen
3. John Lennon
4. Bad Company
5. Roger Taylor
6. Brian May
7. Bowie
8. Prince
9. Queen & Paul Rodgers
10. Green Day

honorable metions (Freddie Mercury, Tim Staffelli, Pual Mccartney, George Harrison, Elton John, Bob Dylan)
The Beatles were not overrated. Queen was defiantly more proficient with their instruments and Freddie was a much better vocalist than any of The Beatles. It is probably safe to say that The Beatles were far more influential and even perhaps more import in the history of music. But Queen is the better band.

Brian May:
"To us, to me, the Beatles are completely awe-inspiring as writers, performers and "Movers of History" - I can think of no-one else who gives that total feeling of centrality. Sure, the Who and Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix all took the intensity of rock to greater peaks afterwards, and were much more virtuoso-like in the actual playing of their instruments. But for innovation and colour and humour and awareness and sheer bloody jaw-dropping consummate artistry, I can't see anyone within miles. (OK, I hear you, maybe that old Queen group, but it's hard for me to be objective in this area!) In any case, as I say, for US, the Beatles were, and always will be IT. Why are they not exciting the kids of today? I would be very interested to know. I think it just needs a bit of work in the translation. I would actually like to see a real renaissance of the Beatles as voices relevant for today's ebullient youth. My daughter got very misty when these guys played "Let it Be". As it should be.
Hail the Beatles !!!
