Ok not vital, but in the I want to break free video, during the ballet section in the middle, freddie appears without his moustache. I heard that he shaved it off just for this video. Is this true? if so, does this mean that there was a period of the early eighties when freddie didnt have his tache...

No - Freddie's mustache actually had the tensile strength of spring steel - shaving it would have been impossible - any time you see him without it, he's wearing a lip cap - the oral equivalent to the skull caps worn by actors playing bald parts.
