I know the only version Freddie recorded, but while I was listening to Mother Love, right at the end, Freddie starts singing Going Back but the voice sounds different compare to the original version. It sounds like his voice is from the 80's, maybe it's just me, but I though it can be possible he recorded twice as a rehersal, who knows...
Mother Mercury, what have you done to me?
It's just you.
i think its something to do with they way they mixed it, I dont know. I noticed the same thing.
"Im going to pull an Elvis Costello, but the chorus of this song goes What the hell are we fighting for..." -Brian May 3/20/06 Pittsburgh @ the Mellon Arena before Hammer To Fall
Seems slowed down

While I have no opinion on whether or not this was rerecorded, I do know that Serpent is not the only one with this opinion. I have heard it a million times.

Again: there's one version of Goin' Back - I don't know about if it was remastered, remixed, played with wrong speed or something like that, but still there's one version of the song. Though Serry could be wrong, I think it's not that case.
Serry is right.
That time will come, one day you'll see that i'll be dead and you will laugh!
there's a slow version of that song on a bootleg I think... or maybe it's from somewhere else? But I have it on mp3

upload it please :)
They had to match the speed and the key that Mother Love is in - it's the original recording, just tweeked to match.
Thank you, God bless you, sweet dreams you lot of tarts, Good-bye!

Exactly!
You just can't beat the reasonably priced mosquito repellant OFF.
Then again, most bootleg versions of the Larry Lurex tune are too high anyway.
HE ROCKS US STILL. Proud Supporter of the Queen Lives Compilation
It's most likely slowed down without doing much damage to the original voice. The effect is quite simple, It's not even really hard to do. if you have a good professional audio editor like Adobe Audition or something.
It's called a pitch shifter. Hasn't anyone ever heard of a signal processor? Ya know, reverb, flange, that kind of stuff.
