Is it true that when played live, a Freddie double would flash into view on one side of the stage, while the real Freddie flashed into view on the other side? I read it somewhere on a Queen quiz I took. If so that's pretty cool, I wonder who the guy was to play the fake Freddie, lol.
Couldn't resist: Paul Rodgers.

Well, someone from roadie crew, I guess... It was somewhere - in a book, but I don't remember in which one.
Indeed. In the very beginning when they played this song. The SHA tour started in Manchester, in 1974. They did this in a couple of shows. And it was indeed a roadie.

Greg Brooks wrote about this in his wel beloved (big cough) Queen Live.
John: "It's the one thing I wish I could do - sing."

TWO FREDDIES!!??

Wow...

So did they both die of AIDS or did one grow a goatee and tour with Brian and Roger for 2005 and 2006.

:-D
I know we're going off tangent here but does anyone agree that they never got to grips with the ending live? The studio version was a fade out of course; they tried thae Dragon Attack medley and that drum solo but it never quite held up for me. Anyway the rest of it is super.

It was a crew roadie, it's said in Queen: As It Began...
