Anyone hear or see anything about this?Quite frankly im disgusted at how the whole thing was handled.Dublin looked like a scene from Iraq, seriously.I was on the street were the main part of the trouble happened and in the 5 minutes i was there,I seen one garda on fire,ON FIRE,four cars being set on fire and people smashing each other to bits.It was horrible.Out of 8000 rioters, only 40 were arrested, what do people think about this anyway?

Nothings changed then oh well
meaning?nothing like this has happened in years in dublin
I wish we had a riot in Trenton. That would be sweet. Especially because I live way up in rural North Jersey anyway. This is just my "college home."
(In Dublin)My friend was on a bus and it was petrol bombed...He got off the bus in time (and so did everyone else who was on the bus)
Been happening up here in Belfast for a long long time.
These sumbags can riot and destroy all round them and very few of them get arrested, never mind charged.

Wouldn't living in a destructive-free and peaceful world make everyone happier and life more worth while.... wouldn't it be easier and better for everyone????
OF COURSE IT WOULD BUT SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO BE TOTAL ARSEHOLES.
It's a shame....
Peace!

"Why were they marching through Dublin anyway?"
- do you think it was in any way the marchers' fault?

Yeah, I agree that they should have expected protests of some sort.
But what happened was shocking. I thought Dublin was above all that kind of behaviour.

Definitely,it was so scary.Ha but I thought Charlie Bird getting attacked was hilarious
So...anyone care to give me a synopsis of what exactly happened?
on saturday,Dublin decided to go mad for the day.The Orange men from Northern Ireland decided to march in Dublin which they knew they knew they'd get some response so people decided to riot to stop it and it got out of hand.People were hospitalised, shops looted, pavements uplifted, cars burnt out,and so on.Need to know more?
So Oompa Loompas from Northern Ireland went to march in Dublin...and all hell broke loose?
I think linda deserves a clap lol.Jasus that was long
This was part of the "love ulster" thing that's been going on. It was NOT an Orange Parade.
The march was organised, with the blessing of the Taoiseach's office to give some publicity to the campaign for justice of the families of people murdered by the IRA.
The rioters were mainly FROM Northern Ireland. The marchers were, on this occasion, blameless. They had been give an offical ok to march. Republican Sinn Fein bussed in oiks from the Deep South, and rabble rousers from the North.
Sorry, but on this occasion, the Nordie Prods were in the right.
Funny, wouldn't you say... I mean, a republican march in the North gets army protection. A Protestant march to highlight the victims of republican violence in the South gets hijacked.
Perhaps the "Free State" isn't quite so free after all...
Another inflammatory post brought to by the letters P, R, O, T, E, S, T, A, N and T. Aptly named, eh?
Adios.
