When they record video, they also record audio. :-)
This of course doesn't mean it will get released or anything, I doubt that.

The understanding is that those cameras are for just showing them on the big screens at the concert and that nothing is actually being recorded. Can you imagine? All that and someone can't stick in a video tape and press record? What the phuck?

Actually we have very very few recordings of Queen in the U.S. considering how many concerts they played there. For example from the Game tour there are recordings available of less than half of the gigs although Queen was certainly at their peak in the U.S. at that time. I'm convinced that many more recordings were made of Queen in the U.S., but as there seems to be very little demand for them in the States not many have actually surfaced.
But you are certainly right, the U.S. tapers together with the Japanese were definately the best in the '70ies and are of course still today. Mostly because their equipement is much better than what is commonly used in Europe.

So are you people doing your best to bootleg or I would say more properly document the concerts...secretly of course? Either audio or film? Does anyone know if Jacksonville and or Duluth were documented in whatever best ways?

Peter Gabriel, on his last tour, offered ALL of his shows available on CD off of his website after the shows.
I ordered the CD of the concert we attended, and LOVE IT. It is a soundboard recording, in great quality, cost $25.00, and will last forever, unlike a $25.00 shirt.
Why Queen does not do this is beyond me. Keep the proceeds it costs to do the recording, and donate the profits to the Mercury Trust.
