Can someone please help me out, just wanted to put some albums on a dvd to back them up but i was wondering how i can crush the album files or make them smaller so i can fit more on the dvd

ok so you ever tried backing them up to a portable device such as a mp3 player? set that up in windows media player to copy over at a lower bitrate (they should be 56 now but i reduce it to 27 i reccomend the highest number that will fit on the destination.)then open the portable device in windows explorer and copy them back to hard disk. viola! smaller files. or you could use gold wave to squzze the bitrate (high bitrate obviosly = high quality)

but dvd players don't play flac so the backups are completly useless unless you have a pc that is guarentueed to never crash or internet that always works my advice works better

Stupidity is different from a lack of knowledge. Now, you can easily cure their lack of knowledge, Caspar, and you do, so I commend you...but there ARE nicer ways...
