Congratulations on your decision. I understand how difficult it is because I quit 5 days ago. Its getting easier every day though.

Good luck to you.

Poppy, at 16 you have a very good chance to quit and it's time to quit, too, because it won't be easier. The key word in you sentence describing why you did not succeed quitting is "try". Trying implicates you do your best but you are not able to quit. This is the attitude you must change. Instead of saying "I try to quit" say "I quit". You must find your own very good reason why you quit, nobody can decide it for you. To help your decision you can calculate how much money you will spend in the next 10 years on cigarettes and you can make a pro and contra smoking list and you will be amazed to see how there is no reason to go on smoking.

My personal reason was that I did not want to be controlled by a substance any longer, I wanted my life back.

Hang in there, fatty. I hope you make the weekend.
And good luck to you, jcrawford 79!
I do not want any google ads here.

as in you'll die of smoking...

my dad keeps quitting smoking since about 10 years ago... they say it's a light drug, but it gets u step by step until it becomes part of your rutine and can't do anything without smoking.
It's my life, OKAY?
WRONG

It's everyone around you as well. Ever heard of passive smoking?

Ok, let's ignore that then. What about the people who care for you? I'm sure they don't want you to kill yourself.

100% of smokers die :P
Wrong. I know about passive smoking. And the people around me all of them smoke.

That's complete bullshit.

Where do you smoke? In a confined room with only smokers?

anyway, doesn't matter if you want to ruin your life, go ahead. You're not anywhere near me.

It's my life and i don't need anybody's opinion, specially yours.

I am of legal age and know what I do. Stay out of my life and decisions.

Thanks for the support, I know what you mean about the 'try' thing, I guess I've actually got to do it, not just 'try.'
I can understand why someone wouldn't quite smoking, as they are already dependent and are not strong enough to resist the addiction, but what I don't understand is why so many people start smoking. It's rather silly.

What are you saying you stupid cunt?

The English smoking ban is a week away and I am certainly not thinking it's 'great' right now. Hmmmmppphh.

Sorry for the old thread bump.
