Here's a list of all online file hosters, each with a description of limits. I don't include file hosters that want you to sign up for an account first! If you know of a free online file hoster that's not on the list yet then let me know! ;-)

» the good: allows uploading up to 1 GB! / mostly fast downloads.
» the bad: no progress bar / links only active for 7 days and limited number of downloads.

MegaUpload
» website: http://www.megaupload.com
» the good: allows uploading up to 250 MB / simple progress bar / links stay active for a long time.
» the bad: download speeds vary / has uploading timeouts from time to time.

RapidShare
» website: http://www.rapidshare.de
» the good: very fast downloads! / detailed progress bar / download links are active for a long time.
» the bad: only allows uploading to 100 MB / 1 hour wait after downloading.

SaveFile
» website: http://www.savefile.com
» the good: ok download speeds / download links are active for a long time.
» the bad: only allows uploading to 60 MB / no progress bar.

FileFactory
» website: http://www.filefactory.com/upload/
» the good: only allows uploading to 500 MB / good download speeds.
» the bad: some timeouts / no progress bar.

Badongo
» website: http://www.badongo.com/
» the good: allows uploading up to 1 GB! / mostly fast downloads.
» the bad: progress bar only appears with large files.

SendSpace

» the good: allows uploading up to 1,2 GB! / mostly fast downloads.
» the bad: uses upload/download slots.
