I know that I have a quote from this song in my siggy, and I thought I knew the meaning of this song, but maybe I'm wrong. I know when they say "Hoople and me" their referring to Mott and the Hoople, a band...but as for the rest of the song, I'm kinda lost, and if I'm not mistaken, Brian wrote this song, right? Is "Peaches" an American groupie, girlfriend, friend, etc?

I'm sure it's partially to do with the fact they were touring with/or supporting mott the hoople and brian obviously liked being where he was,on stage and playing music enjoying life then.

Also i think it has to do with being layed up for months on end ill with hepatitis and then a duocenal ulcer putting him out for a while.

Perhaps other queen experts could give a better informed answer.

I dont really think that Now Im Here is one of Brian's best, even though it's coming from one of my favourite albums. That song just annoys me. It's too long and I dont like it when they repeat it again, like at Wembley for example. I dont HATE it I just dont think it's one of his best.
I don't agree with the last poster; the Wembley version was a real powerhouse which is a nice surpsie as I remember it losing its freshness around that time- remember it had been bar one tour or so an ever present in the Queen set. I love the song-it sounds like the Stones having a go at heavy metal but the fade out ending caused a real problem live. I didn't like the out of tune noise at the end but I can't really offer any alternative solutions.
