I like John Deacon's sense of tranquility; he rarely lost his temper (if at all), and never let anything go to his head. If you have ever seen an interview with John, you would notice that he is a calm soul, not to mention a talkative individual.

His role in Queen was a good role at that; he did not step up to Freddie's level or anything, but he contributed whenever necessary, writing his share of fan favorites, like Another One Bites The Dust, Friends Will Be Friends (co-wrote with Freddie), I Want To Break Free, You're My Best Friend, Back Chat, etc.
And he also contributed physically, playing electric guitar, keyboards, piano, and, of course, bass.

All in all, John Deacon is a huge piece of Queen, and ever since his retirement, fans have long awaited the "man in the shadows" to reveal himself once more.

I like that John is the 777th richest person in Britain.

I like John especially when he seems to sing along with Freddie in Liar. :D Do you think he really sang with him "all day long..."

I like John so much because not only was he a bloody good bass player, he didn't go all air head like most other famous people.

Songwriting abilities.....without question. He had perfect pop sensibility when it came to writing a song. A trait not found in many classic rock bands as pop music was typically frowned upon. Also, many people fail to realize that his songwriting took the band in as many directions as Freddie's did (i.e. flamenco, Caribbean, funk, disco, pop rock, anthemic rock, and 12 bar blues pop). It irritates me to read so many say that John typically wrote within the "black" spectrum of popular music because that is simply not the case when you look at his catalogue of songs. In my opinion, he was a phenomenal songwriter.
