Queen songs that sound like other Queen songs

There's a whole bunch of stuff in 'More Of That Jazz' that really sounds like the rest of the 'Jazz' album...(and the extended IWTBF has....)

The beginning of 'Brighton Rock' and the end of 'Seven Seas of Rhye' from Queen II.

And 'Seven Seas' sounds a lot like some track from the first album. The title escapes me at the moment......

Hey, I liked The Who/ Loser In The End comment. Had never given that a thought before.

I mean, honestly. I know that Brian and Roger have cited The Who as a major influence, but damn. Cover band, much?

Good Times Are Now (Roger Taylor solo song from Fun In Space album 1981) and Coming Soon.

Same tempo, same guitar riff in the middle.

I think it's on the songs that already was thought up during The Game-sessions. I mean, those 2 songs have many similiaraties.

But Queen didn't used the song for their album, so Roger probably finished the song himself for his first solo album. Just like Magic Is Loose for example.

Play the Game and It's Hard Life sound same in : This is your life... and It's a hard life parts -beggining of the chorus

Breakthru and Ride The Wild Wind sound rather similar with quick drumming, and a chugging guitar solo

the WWRY solo has a lot in common with bits of the AKMOM solo

Machines(bac to humans) is very similar with Radio GaGa.

I think that the The Works album was Queen trying to play it safe after Hot Space didn't do very well. I think that they somehow revisited some of their earlier tracks/styles.

Those are the main similarities. You could also say that the Hammer to Fall riff is similar to the one in The Hero or a rockier version of the It's Late intro, but this has only to do with the fact that it's Brian's signature "A,D/A" movement.

Don't try so hard's solo has this spooky Who wants to live forever vibe in it, mainly because of that fiddly lick you hear before the solo.

Brian's solo song "Let your heart rule your head" has '39 written all over it.

And, that's all I can think of at the moment.

What do you mean sustaining chords - something like sus2, sus4, sus6, add2 etc, yes? Is it something like this: you have a base-chord Bb, for example, and then Bb->Am/Bb->...

why...they could even be the same song! - nah! fucking hell - now that is spooky! ;-)

You know the "ultimate pop rock chord progression" ? Like D A Bm G or C G Am F ? A LOT of songs are based on it, among them Let it be, No woman no cry, So lonely, With Or Without you, Miracle drug, or awful stuff such as She will be loved or ... You're beautiful. Well, to my knowledge, there are THREE Queen songs using it, written by three different members ! You And I, Save Me and It's A Hard Life.
Also when you look at Freddie's music,obviously you see a lot of familarity between the piano based songs : DOTL and KQ, but also Millionaire Waltz and Nevermore (same chords F then Dm and almost the same melody), DOTL and MOTBQ (descending chords)and so on ...

White Man and The Prophet's Song have the same riff.
