Following a reference on BM.com, I went and looked up this new release.

I was highly amused by the control panel. Anyone found out how much it'll cost yet?
How bizarre.

I can't see Brian ever using one though, which kind of defeats the purpose.

£1300

I sort of agree with you though - although they're ideal for BM they're too "niche" for anyone else
yeah, but only 500 made? Is that worth the extra $800???
extra $800 compared to what? Regular AC30s aren't $800 less than this...
I'd rather buy a normal ac30 which also have some EQ knobs.

rip off
We love you Mandy!
This is a shameless fucking rip off! I reckon it'd cost about a tenth of the current price if you took Brian May's name off it.
Well it does have the treble boost built in and is modelled on the same spec that Brian has his amps re-configured.

He never touches the bass / treble etc they are always full up, same on the guitar he doesn't bother with the trb/bass pot any more, I believe it's always effectively off.

So I guess it's going be pretty close to his real configuration.

It's one of these overpriced bits of musical kit that no real musician will probably ever buy. Only people with too much money, who probably can't play anyway, and think that this will turn them into Brian May.
The control panels on the AC30s Brian uses are exactly the same as the new signature models with just a volume control, although I belive they dont have the built in Treble Boost.
I love you for your mind baby give me your body.

Yeah I understand that, but I want a good amp, not just Brian's sound. I also want to make my own sounds.

Yeah - no ability to change the options?

This is just something stupid rich kids will ask their parents to buy (Johnny Knoxville anyone?). Daddy, I want to play like Brian May, buy-me-that, buy-me-that!

AHahaha.
True, but then why buy any 'signiture' item if you didn't want to sound like the artist?

This is clearly for the folk that wish to capture that sound, and after all it is a sound that has served Brian well for 40 years.

This isn't a regular AC30. No knobs, two tones. A regular AC30 would be nearly as much.
