If you don't like him, I can only say you know squat about acting.

The guy is the most varied actor I've seen since Paul Newman. The term "the new Marlon Brando" is quite in place here. He can take on any role from the heartless rare-book expert in "From Hell" (by Roman Polanski) to a crazy pirate in "Pirates Of The Carribean" with ease. He is always convincing, has a perfect balance between underacting and overacting, and has enough charisma to fill a major stadium.

That makes a fine actor in my books.
amazing actor
a lot of girls over here think he is the hottest thing ever but thats where i draw the line, he's a great actor.
One should ANALize the Poetry on page 43, when Oedipus is rollin' in his benzo and he has to bust a cap on some flagrants in the under city http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/image/essay/1
He is the hottest thing ever lol.I dont care if you hate him or love him.Anyone even check out the forum?
What I admire about Johnny Depp is his non-conformist attitude. He's a diverse actor with oodles of on-screen charisma. Honestly, I'd say he carried the movie Secret Window as no other actor could have. He's attractive, but rarely (if ever)plays up his looks and he's never compromised his ideals for the sake of 'hollywood'. I often see movies I wouldn't otherwise see simply because he's in them.

I had one dream not long after he died where he kept saying, You've got to be there Brian, and I woke up in a daze thinking, Where have I got to be? -Brian May

Well, precisely. I may be the only guy on QZ who fancies JD, or not, I dunno, but aside from being really gorgeous, he is a fantastic actor.
This can't end well.
i class al pacino, robert deniro, bill murray, jack nicholson, marlon brando, joe pesci, clint eastwood, michael caine and sean connery as good actors, johnny depp doesnt touch them, hes a lightweight compared to them, so you cant say i dont know diddly squat because they are some of the best, oh and adam sandlers good but i wouldnt class him in the greatest,

I dont class him as the greatest actor either but he is good at what he does!!!Of course he hasnt got a patch on de Niro and all of them because their all legends but most of Johnny Depps films are satifying!!!
Great actor...

Not worth getting an Oscar yet, but he might give a knock out role any day now. I thought he was pretty damn good on 'Pirate Of The Caribbean' even though that movie is extremely overated.

I completely agree on the POTC comment. He was great on the film, but it was way overrated... He's a very talented actor, though. :))

Can´t do anything more but agree.
once he's a drugdealer, then a debauched poet during the restoration period, then again a pirate, a collector of old books, the owner of a chocolate factory, a gipsy sailing along a river in France, and what else?

I love all his characters and he makes me have a lot of fun.

among my favs with al pacino and john malkovich.

What's missing is a shakespearian play...
