Do you think queen + PR will ever tour the states again after they finish up this spring? I'd love to see them again, they put on one killer show. Unfortunately I could only make the Cleveland concert and none others. I'm afraid that with the mediocre ticket sales and audiences that they might be hesitant to come back.

I just got back from the Detroit show, and man after seeing that I hope they do tour again.

I have a feeling they'll probably do an album or maybe even (eek) another compilation or something that needs promoted...they'll probably find an excuse to do it again I bet, though I'm sure they'll say they don't plan on until then (just like this time :)
Something tells me that this will be it for the USA. I think they might come back in the Fall if they decide to add another leg to the tour, but I would guess that they will take some time off this summer(except Paul with his solo shit) and then start working on a new album. If/when the album comes out and they decide to tour again... Europe/Asia only. I do not see them coming back here unless it's a REALLY short tour or another NY/LA hit like they did last fall.

It is difficult psychologically for me to understand how the American public are so oblivious to the history of Rock N' Roll and have so little care for it. Instead they prefer rap, video games, following some bouncy ball somewhere, and beer/chemical substances. I have quite a health obsession for just Rock N' Roll my dears!
I also think that Queen should continue this "Return Of Champions Live World Tour 2005-2006" throughout the world AND bring it back to the U.S. THIS YEAR as they have not hit many markets and cities here in the U.S. and should tour some others again as they desperately need to raise their interest here in the U.S. more.

The reason is that the truly brill music in ignored simply because it is not promoted extensively like the "crap" is! It's all about promotion. Your average Amercian consumer can be equated with a sheep...they do what they are told to do via tv, press, etc. and buy into whatever these outlets tell them are "right", "good", or "hot". I've seen it so many times here and it's very idiotic the way the majority of the people in this country let others think for them.
Music promotors and record companies of course over-promote the crap as they know no one will listen to it or more importantly buy it if they are'nt led to beleive its the "hip new thing". REAL talent is ignored as it's seen as un-marketable in this country..that and the fact most talented bands can't get the vast promotion that majot labels can offer them. The only way that can happens is if they 'sell out' and start playing the same type of musical fodder everyone else is. Originality and Talent are seen as road blocks. Vapidness and Conformanism is seen as the Holy Grail in the musical industry it seems here.
It's disgusting and unfair! Right now there are thousands of wonderful songs being produced and recorded that most of us will never hear thanks to this bogus set of "rules". All i can think of is the plot to the WWRY Musical...it's all too true!!

It's all bollocks as far as im concerned...there has'nt been a decent song released over here in i don't know how long!! It's infuriating, as this is supposed to be where Rock n' Roll was born and look where we are now? Pumping out inept Rap songs and other drivel...and going one step further by exporting it and poisioning the world's airwaves. Kids in other countries think it's "cool stuff" since it's from the US...but i have to tell you...it's CRAP!
God i hope we have a reinnisance or something...and SOON. Thank the Gods we at least have great bands from the UK still visit us...and thank the Gods we have Queen+PR. Without these outlets, i think i'd go spare in no time.

So true. Our music is so bad - that's why American Idol is popular - people want to hear music with a recognizable tune for a change, even if it is a song from the 50s or 60s, sung by an amateur.

Consider that "from Above," perhaps Freddie knew how much so many of us needed this. Not to wax too "religious" or whatever, but hell, I know I needed to "rock" at a concert like I did when I was 20. Allow an old-timer a story...
Back in 1988 or so...(good grief...what's that tell ya...?), a singer named "Meatloaf" played at a friggin' BAR here in Buffalo, New York, in front of, oh...maybe about 2,000 people for $12 a head. But when the fat-man came STORMING out onto the stage, running from end-to-end, with that maniacal look and GLARE as he worked the crowd feverishly, SWEATING cannon balls all night...over the PUMPING intro of 'Bat Out of Hell'...it was THAT moment that I knew anything was possible.
He later shouted to the crowd that they were working on 'Bat Out of Hell Part II', due out next year, and that he was BACK and BIGGER and BADDER than ever...
Sure as his word...he played to a larger venue the next year, and then his record took off like nothing nostalgic I ever seen. It was glorious.
Only 8,500 fans showed up in Buffalo on a Friday Night. Yet my friends and I haven't stopped talking about it. EVERYone loves a good comeback. Maybe...just maybe...someone UP there is still going to allow us all to 'have our day'.
Oddly...it just occurred to me that 'our day' was with 8,490 other Buffalonians. It's the rest of the town and city and country that will eventually discover this band. Will it be as genuine...? I wonder...
