A few days ago i listened to my favourite Song:The Prophet's Song.

And i love it. But i think, that i's a very long song, so i made a shorter version, about four minutes:

Very good! Although I must admit I prefer the song in its entirety...

Not bad - good edits up to about 3:00, then it sounds a bit 'hack and slash', but certainly no worse than some 'official' edits. Personally, I prefer it without the now I knows - have you heard my versions? Have a look here:-

It's certainly not a bad attempt, but just like such_a_jollification, I like the song in its entirety :)
But you did some nice edits in this version.
Thank you :)

Too long, eh? That's a bit like saying the same about BoRhap imo! No, I wish there were similarly long songs from Queen in those days. The craft of pieceing such music elements together, a la Yes-like,seems like a dream to me.

I'll listen sometime later.

Peace,
Adam.

Oh yes, I totally agree, Adam. There's nothing better than a long song to get immersed in. I remember being quite disappointed when ADATR came out, that there was nothing much over 5 minutes long on it! I'm into The Flower Kings at the moment, who are very like old Genesis and Yes. They have a few tracks which go on for 25 minutes plus, and Garden Of Dreams runs for just a few seconds short of an hour! Lol!

25 minute tracks are boring imo. Most of the time it's endless and endless parts of the same bits.

Imagine a 25 minute version of Prophets Song, in Genesis/Pink Floyd style.

A 2 minute intro, then a 14 minute Now I Know part, and the outro will be 3 minutes

I know you said this to illustrate how boring long songs are, but that's a really great idea. 14 minutes of Now I Know. I wish they'd done that.

You obviously haven't heard The Flower Kings - try and find Stardust We Are (Parts 1, 2 & 3) to download from somewhere, and see what you think. :)

They probably did! :)

Hey! You can never make enough delay effects in a song. :D
