[QUOTENAME]Freddie_Jr. wrote: [/QUOTENAME]I wouldn't mind seeing a movie about Queen, heck maybe they'll do something like walk the line and Rey for Freddie Mercury
It'll be called "Mercury"
Tom Cruise will play Freddie Mercury xD!! JK
Oh lawd Jesus not Tom Cruise, please lord no!!!
I could just picture him jumping up and down on Oprah's couch again:
Oprah:
So Tom, I hear you going to be doing a bio on the late great singer and frontman of the british rock band Queen, Freddie Mercury. So, how do you feel about all this, and was it tough fitting into the role...?
Tom Cruise:
Oh yes, but I pulled it off... (stands up on couch and starts jumping around) Freddie Mercury is awesome, Freddie Mercury is awesome!!! Crowd starts cheering...
(although I think the man is crazy, I'd have to agree wiht him on Freddie Mercury, lol)

I didn't really mean Vh1 to do a Queen movie literally,I meant they as to one of the more major movie companies, like they did with Ray and Walk the Line.
And you're right about that pic of angeline's brother,he'd be perfect as Freddie in a movie!
Sean Penn looks a litle like John Deacon someone said? Hmmmmmmm...I wonder now that you mention it.

Look at this picture, John looks exactly like Sean Penn.

God, so he does!
well, we have James Haven(man, he really looks like our hero) to play Freddie andf Sean Penn to be Deacy... what about Brian and Roger? For Brian i should say from Jarvis Cocker Pulp(amazingly looklike on "bad cover band" video) and for roger i should say Kiefer Suderland.
This won't help... but...
We watched an Economics movie with one "John Stossel" in it... and at 3/4 view (and generally every other time) he looked exactly like Freddie Mercury. I couldn't help but giggle in the back of the room.
But, on topic...
...but if Tom Cruise played Freddie, he would have to find an EVEN YOUNGER girl!
I don't know... I like good cinema as well as anyone, but with celebrities, I always feel uncomfortable prying/spying into their lives.
I remember even being a little nervous going to read an interview with Freddie because I was so afraid that he would sound like one of those fluff-brained musicians... you know the type (having read an interview with "Tyson Ritter" - first time I'd heard of him -... that's the type).
If someone did make a movie, I would hope they did focus on Queen, as a band. And by that, I mean, not just Freddie. I know that would make a lovely bid for whatever awards... but, really. The awards have yet to learn there's more to life than death. Geh. That sounded too awful cynical.
But, as I still don't really have a point... I would have to vote, if they did such a thing, for Johnny Depp as Freddie - Depp is one of the few actors I deeply respect (he has the amazing talent to make you believe he IS the character). And ANYONE but Orlando Bloom as Roger. Oh, that Orlando fellow just bothers me... His acting is rather Keano Reeves "Whoa", and I just never did fancy him for his looks...

If there was a Queen movie, who should it be written/directed by? How about Spike Lee?

Nah - I couldn't picture the boys in either the mob, or in gun or swordfights. We'd do better with a director who can really bring characters across - maybe Paul Haggis (Crash) or Ang Lee.

Okay, everyone's gotta agree with me on this one:
I think Freddie and Roger would have a good sword fight in a movie, lol...now Brian and John, I dont know...just my personally opinion, lol!
But I'll agree with you on the mob thing, lol...I couldnt picture any of the four being in the mob, maybe John? lol!

Seriously, Ang Lee would probably be good, though. Clint Eastwood?? (I'm talking about the director now =) Tim Burton...? No, no, I changed my mind... I wouldn't like the movie to look like "Charlie and the chocolat factory". Steven Spielberg?? Nah... nah... too Hollywood... I don't know actually... I don't know... MAYBE Ang Lee...

I would not want VH1 to do a movie about Queen, that would ruin their legacy and the mystic about them, especially Freddie...actually Eric McCormack, the guy that plays Will on 'Will and Grace' was suppose to play Freddie in a movie about his life...but I dont know what the devil happened...lol
I think Eric McCormack actually did a play on broadway, or something along those lines, about Freddie Mercury and he played him. It was Elton John who talked him into it. He didn't want to at first, but then he broke down and did it.
