New Dream Theater DVD recorded (setlist OMG)

I think it's very poor that there are only a 5 or 6 Dream Theater fans on a Queen forum!

So it's been sold already?
I didn't see any reviews on the DT messageboard yet.

The fact that there are not too many DT fans on this board has several reasons:

- DT don't get any airplay, so how could they know them
- Queen fans are more "song" oriented, DT is too complex for a large number of people here
- Queen fans don't like bands that have better musicians than Brian, Roger, Freddie and John
- They don't like the vocals of JLB

Yeah, that's right. I know a german Queen forum where all the users used to praise the musicianship of Brian, Roger, John and Freddie. When I came up with Dream Theater and told them that the guys are superior to any Queen member, they talked shit like: musicianship is irrelevant, it's not natural... But before, they used to say that Brian & Co. were virtuosos.

They don't like JLB, because they only know the cover version of "One Vision". Nobody who has seen JLB on this world tour can say that he's a bad singer. The videos I posted here prove the opposite. And the new DVD will prove it, too. They're already some clips circulating at youtube.com! He's amazing.

Agreed. Although I must say that JLB has come a long way. If you listen to their older live albums, he can be quite annoying. I can imagine that people who listened to those albums are hard to convince and give them another try. But then again, I like the fact they're not THAT big. If I want to see them in concert, there's plenty of time buying tickets :)

Apart from that, I hate people listening to some music just because everybody tells them that it's so damn good. It's something you should discover for yourself. Don't let anybody convince you that some band is the best on earth. If you don't like it, just don't listen to it.

Did you know that he had a vocal chord rupture at the end of 1994, just after the first leg of the Awake tour was finished? It took him 8 years to recover completely. In 2002, his "old" power awoke. With the help of a famous female opera star, he changed his technique and his lifestyle.
Right now, he is better than EVER.

Yes, I am aware of this.
However, to the average newcomer this will be unknown, and therefore they will think it sucks.
But since ToT he really is nearly perfect.

I really look forward to the DVD. The trailer kicks some serious ass!

I prefer to see the live version by Roger Waters.

Only from a vocal point of view.
Musically DT nailed it, and even the vocals are very good. Of course, it's not as you know it from the original artists. And on songs like The Great Gig in the Sky you don't need Waters ;)

they just need me on those kind of songs, that's why I'm going :-P.

Indeed from a vocal point of view I'm gonna see Waters.
But also out of pure nostalgia. I mean, he is and stays the genius from Pink Floyd and after al is my hero.
