SHA-A great mixture of songs including heavy metal (Stone Cold Crazy), balladry (dear Friends et al),vaudeville (Kiler Queen and BBTLB), straight ahead pop (Misfire) and In The Lap Of The Gods Revisited, a mighty anthem worth the price alone.
Innuendo-Lots of hard rock here e.g Headlong, The Show Must Go on, I can't Live and The Hitman, atmospheric nuanced production, super vocals by Fred combining grace of 70s with power of 80s voice.
The Miracle- I love the energy on this album. Khashoggi's Ship and Breakthru sound so full of life. Best album in terms of production since News of The World. You sense that Fred's illness had kicked them out of a lazy spell.
News of The World- After the flowery ADATR, we get an earthy hard rock album- thank goodness. It's Late is the consumate Brian May song and Sheer Heart Attack is exhilarating. And to top it all, we get a wonderful slice of lounge jazz with My Melancholy Blues-superb.
Queen II- Epic music- tongue-in cheek perhaps but still very exciting. MOTB is magnificent and the metallic riffs of Ogre Battle and Seven Seas of Rhye give it some bottom end.
