fuck that watch it, it will be decent, and even if it pisses you off that they suck, it will make you realize even more how great Queen are. They need the publicity THERE DOING A WORLD TOUR. They need it. I only wish they could out do Constitine.
"Im going to pull an Elvis Costello, but the chorus of this song goes What the hell are we fighting for..." -Brian May 3/20/06 Pittsburgh @ the Mellon Arena before Hammer To Fall
Yes, the songs will be butchered and molested. But, dammit, it's cool that Queen gets some exposure in the US.
Flick of the wrist
1 min 30 sec is pathetic. How many commercials do they have?

The show lasts for approx 44 mins without commercials.

I am sure that the performances will be longer than 1 1/2 mins. However anybody expecting the full song will be disappointed.

Why people are so upset about this is beyond me.

This is the format they have used for every season of the show and every season of the show has been in the top of the ratings. Why should they change now? They are featuring the singers more than the songs. I'd say that roughly around 1:30 or so is enough time to make a valid judgement call on a performance. Sure I'd like to hear the entire songs too but that's not the point of the show.
You don't like snippets of songs?

What about Live Aid?!!
"Build your muscles as your body decays!"
I like how they're kicking up the publicity with only two shows left on the U.S. tour. They should've planned something on this scale near the beginning instead.
Is anyone going to tape this and upload it here via Rapidshare/BitTorrent in MP3 form?
No I am going to tape it and put it up as a DVD

Only if I can annoy people with it :)

Too many of you folks are living in fear. We're about to hear 8 pretty good singers give their interpretation of Queen's material. They are smart enough to know that they shouldn't try to imitate Freddie. And I suspect the audience will end up with a much bigger appreciation for Queen's music.

Those of us on Queenzone will probably hate maybe two of the eight interpretations/performances. But there will most likely be extensive disagreement over which songs were well or poorly performed.

It will be really interesting tonight to hear the input from the judges. Randy has said on several occasions that Freddie was great and anyone trying to sound like him would be making a major mistake. Simon likes Queen's music and will absolutely crucify any of the contestants who, in his opinion, dishonor it.

Yep, it's gonna be a fun night. In my humble but most accurate opinion, the real winner tonight will be Queen. :)
This show was literally the number one most watched show in the United States last week. It has an average viewership of like 30 million people. Its a huge boost to them to be on this show and it will put them in front of a new audience, which can not be a bad thing, whether you like the show or not. Hold your nose if you have to.

The CD is a pretty cobbled-together duff job. Practically no booklet to speak of, the tracks sound like they were mixed at different volume levels, and the two live tracks aren't even faded in - they just start abruptly in the middle of audience noise. And the title font sucks. Two photos of the band on the inside, the 'blue' one from "Innuendo" and the one used on the "Radio Ga Ga" 7 inch sleeve, and one poorly chosen shot of Q+PR, with Brian looking away from the camera. I could have put together a better produced package than that.

And go ahead and hit me over the head with a tack hammer. I don't care.
