I'm too old for that, and they never forced me to eat anything. It's impossible to force except physical, and they can't make you swallow.

When I was in Colombia I had to walk 15 blocks everyday to get to school. Even if I had to take the bus to go somewhere else, I still had to walk several blocks to get there.
Americans are just WAY TOO used to get in the car, park it, and take a small walk to get to their destination.
Plus, the power of the consumption makes Americans far more tempted to eat this and that. We're bombarded everyday by food ads, and to some of us it's very hard to resist.

Those have to be the creepiest commercials I've ever seen.
Does anyone really want to wake up next to a creepy man with an artificial face, and dressed up like a transvestite at a Mardi Gras parade?
Now I know what those kids at Neverland Ranch must have felt like.

Yeah, we Americans do have cars, buses, subways, etc...and we are very lazy, but I try to work out at least one-two hours a day, because I drive a car, work at a computer...etc

Ignorance and advertising have a lot to do with unhealthy eating habits. For example, millions of parents give their children corn flakes for breakfast thinking it's healthy because the commercials have made them believe so when it's in fact very unhealthy. Kellogs has sponsored numerous so called diet "studies" hammering it into the public "knowledge" that their products are healthy which they are - of course - not.
The high share of processed food in our nutrition is another reason for unhealthy eating habits. Eating "ready-to-eat" processed food which is full of useless flavours and artificial substances makes us lose our instincts of what is good for our bodies and what is damaging.
Ignorance is another factor: many people just do not see that "low fat" or "fat free" food can be extremely unhealthy because of the loads of sugar it contains while "suger-free" products can be extremely fat.
Basically, the best way is to make your own food and to be aware of the extra fat and sugar you eat when you eat ready made food. For example: 100 g potatoes have only about 80 calories but French Fries have about 280 calories and potato chips even 580. It's about teaching ourselves what is good and healthy and still tasty instead of being the victims of an agressive fast food industry. Eat basic fruits, vegetables, yoghurt and low fat meat for one week and you start realizing the difference. Of course, an occasional hamburger or pizza does not harm anybody as long as the usual food is natural and healthy.

I too am quite perturbed at the fact that it is impossible for a casual eater to distinguish what is healthy and what is not, due to malicious advertising. While part of me feels there definitely need to be much stricter standards when it comes to that, another part feels that such regulation is nearly impossible when it comes to clever advertising.
Either way, despite our inevitable bias toward unhealthy eating habits, I still hold that it is 100% within every person's ability to maintain an appropriate body weight.

I been trying for a long time to lose weight, but I don't want to have my penis removed.

Americans are fat because they are all bored. So they like to pass the time eating. If all the fun stuff wasn't so damn expensive Americans would probably be a little less weighty.
I saw a bloater in the drive-thru of McDonalds.
I like the Burger King king..He's cool.
