He didn't say hit singles, he said singles. And I don't think he was joking, he was just complaining, something he does so well.
And yes I do agree that he's quite profound very often. He's definitely a good writer and a brilliant artist in all of the areas he practices: guitar, songwriting, arranging, lyrics, forewords (read the booklet of his solo albums), stereo photograph, and of course, having a huge ego like most artists.

It's often easy to sympathize with the bassist...and the drummer...and the guitarist in bands, because despite an equivalent contribution to the group, they receive far less attention than the frontman. Therefore, I think all three of them are entitled to complain - especially in a band like Queen where the contributions among the members were so equal.

Oh...that video was too funny!!! Everything was on fire in the video, and Rog hair was like bleach blonde....lol
