Has anybody ever done anything with this track? I don't think there's an instrumental version floating around, but there's a lot of instrumental bits, especially in the EP version. I'm toying with the idea of making myself an 'ultimate edition' "Star Fleet Project" CD to stick on the shelf between "Hot Space" and "The Works", and I thought it would be fun to put a good fan mix on there if any of our brilliant regular fan mixers had ever done one. I know its kind of a goofy track but I have always had a soft spot for it.

Yes, good idea. Also an edit of it would be nice, because the available original edits, ripped from the ´7, are sounding very crappy.....

I ripped my own just last night, both single edits and the b-side, and they sounded pretty good. I have a US promo of the single that I don't think had ever been played before last night. I also ripped a live performance of "Let Me Out" - all of which will hopefully put me on my way to filling an 80 minute CD-R.

Can you create an edited fan remix of the song "Starfleet" and post it here??. I´d like to have a short version for a own made Brian "best of", but like I said before, all the available edits are sounding very bad (vinyl rips.......)

Putting together a good mix (emphasis on "good") takes something I do not have, which is talent, so I'm afraid I'll have to defer to someone who knows what they're doing - like the Great Fickle and some of the other talented folks who post here. Anything I put together would undoubtedly sound like shit.

Well I might do a rip from CD n do an inst version.
