Singer in Leaving home...?

It is Brian's voice...it's just filtered through a vocoder...lots of singers use it to get different effects.

Yeah, it's Brian. Though, it wasn't done with a vocoder. They just slowed down the tape and had Brian record his part and then sped it back up to normal speed, giving Brian's voice a female quality.

I did the same thing for my cover version of Leavin' Home and it turned out about the same:

It's Brian. All of the vocals on that song were sung by Dr May. Brian himself said it was him through tape manipulation.

The band never used vocoders before 1980.

Brian's voice sounds so different!

I was of the impression that it was Brian and some tape-speed voodoo, but I don't know where I got that.

Hmmm..I listened to the song several times, and you may be right. =D

It sounds a lot like Freddie most of the time but at the end, when the singer's voice goes high and fades away, I can vaguely hear a little bit of Brian May there.

You have a very nice voice. I like your version almost as much as I like Brian's! Good job!

That technique of speeding up the tape is not nice. LOL. How are we amateurs suppose to know whether it's real or not?

Did Queen use this technique on Freddie's vocals?

It makes you wonder now about a lot of things....
