Freddie and Brian i can't choose... Freddie has an enormous voice.. and what can i say about Brian's guitar play? It's Awesome
I woke up this morning with my hair like Brian May
Freddie.
As a songwriter, Freddie. As an instrumentalist, Roger.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
Freddie!! but Brian comes very close.

brian, freddie was good but brian was responsible for most of the guitar parts. besides biran is the man!
"Im going to pull an Elvis Costello, but the chorus of this song goes What the hell are we fighting for..." -Brian May 3/20/06 Pittsburgh @ the Mellon Arena before Hammer To Fall
Hands down, Freddie. Talent was grand amongst them all, but without Freddie's talent of persuasion, showmanship, songwriting and natural charisma, I don't believe Queen would have been all it could be... or all it was.
"The others don't like my interviews. And frankly, I don't care much for theirs." ~ Freddie Mercury
we r forgetting that John Deacon was also a very talented man - brian admitted he was the best rythm guitarist in the bad - when he recorded guitar.
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!
Natural talent: Freddie

Considering by accounts he didn't touch the piano unless he was writing, recording, or on stage.

Freestone says it wasn't uncommon for Fred to go a month or 2 and not touch the piano....however, if he was in a tiff or row, with a lover...look out...he'd be at the piano all night.

Freddie needed chaos to write his best work.

Learned skill: Brian

I think Brian is a players, player...always learning, and very patient.

Freddie was very frantic, no patience.... Brian would take the time to learn something just how he wanted it...with Freddie, it was probably either there, or it wasn't.

Rog and Deaky very talented too.

But really, without Freddie, and Brian....there absolutely could have been no Queen.

Freddie.
I can't say. They were all so good at what they did. And we got classic songs out of all of them at one point or another so really I don't know.
It must be Freddie. Not just Freddie the showman, but Freddie the musician, the latter being the one which people tend to overlook.

Surely Freddie.
I agree that without him there would be no Queen, but without Roger, Brian or John it would not be Queen we love...
Not one but all of them! The only band in which all four members had #1 hits. Not even the Beatles can top that, that speaks for itself!
