What do you think is the best opening track to a Queen album? (I don't mean as a track, I mean as an opener). I think it must be One Vision. One of my non-Queen fan friends was staying over at my place the other day and I persuaded her to watch a bit of my Live At Wembley DVD with me. Anyway, just as the taped intro was nearly finished, she said "I don't see why Queen are your favourite band." Then Brian's guitar solo kicked in and she said "Oh. I see."
And we ended up watching the whole show, and I had forgotten just how good it was. So what do you guys think?

I think that Innuendo is a very good opener, just like Tie Your Mother down (A Day At The Races)

Procession.

Brighton Rock!!!
Aaa, I think DEATH ON TWO LEGS is a perfect opener, 'cause ir really knocks you off you feet. But otherwise... Brighton Rock and Innuendo.
We will rock you isn't too bad...
The worst opener on any of their album is... It's a beautiful day or Play the Game.

You forgot BoRap!
The beautiful beginning on the piano.
The beautiful beginning on the piano.
Keep yourself alive - is OK to me, nice intro (in one channel!) which brings you in the mood immediately
Procession - Although the 'song' sounds quite simple, it is a good opener before the first real song
Brighton rock - Fairground sounds before rockin' into the song, great opener
Death on two legs - I like this one very much, very exciting opener
Intro/Tie your mother down - A real 'intro' for the album which comes back as an ending also. The segue into Tie Your Mother Doen sounds great and full of energy
We will rock you - I can understand why they chose this one as an opener (alread a hit back then and very recognizable), but I don't like it as an opener
Mustapha - Freddie a cappella, followed by part of the song in mono, followed by part of the song in stereo. I like this one very much
Play the game - I understand why they chose the backwards-crescendo sound as an intro I think, but I don't like it as an intro for the album, sorry
Intro/Flash's theme - Ofcourse this is a good opener for the soundtrack album, because it's the opener of the movie itself
Staying power - Sorry, don't like this arrangement of the song very much, and totally wrong as an opener in my opinion
Radio ga ga - It sounds OK, but as an opener I don't really like it. It's just 'the first single as an opener', not more not less
One vision - Like this one, Strange sounds as an opener and a long intro into the song
Party - I like this one very much as an opener too, it really gives the energy immediately to the album
Innuendo - Although it's 'simply the title track and first single as an opener' it works perfectly. Drumroll.... we have begun.... one, two , three, four.....
It's a beautiful day - I like it because it's the ending too and because it sets an atmosphere for the album, but the track itself is quite simple...
FREDDIE MERCURY SOLO
Let's turn it on - Same as with Innuendo. Drums intro... we have begun... allright, one, two, three, four....
Barcelona - Perfect intro, actually an extended intro to the single version of the title track was added which works really well
The great pretender (for the FM album & The great pretender remix album) - Sorry, don't like it. It's just 'the single track first'
BRIAN MAY
Star fleet - Although I like the track as an intro, the first bars soun like they are hastily faded in
Intro/The dark - Perfect bells intro, which ends the album also, followed by a nice piece of instrumental orchestral music
Space/Business - Space is quite simple (too simple?) as a track, but it works OK as an intro to Business and the album
ROGER TAYLOR:
No violins - Not bad, but not really my favorite too
Strange frontier - I like the sounds as an opener, but in fact it's just 'the title track as an opener'
Nazis 1994 - I like the drumintro, although I am not sure if this was the best choice to open the album
Pressure on - Sorry, sounds just like 'the first single opens' to me
THE CROSS
Shove it (uk edition) - Sounds OK as an opener, because the album ends like this too. But not e really good opener compated to others
Love lies bleeding (us edition) - Sorry, wrong choice for an opener. Absolutely doesn't work, it feels like I missed something when I start playing the album
Top of the world ma - Not really bad, not the bst either. A good rocker to open
Bad attitude - The best opener to a Cross album, very mysterious.

It's about albums intro's ... not song intro's
Besides, BoRap doesn't begin with piano, it begins a cappella
