What about Great King Rat?
"Don't believe all you read in the Bible"?
"Don't believe all you read in the Bible"?
Freddie Mercury was a good, clever, scintillating, smart, sprightly, pleasant, agreeable, congenial, favourable, gratifying, nice, pleasing, pleasurable, welcome, decent, all right, respectable, unobjectionable, exemplary, charitable, altruistic, benevolent, eleemosynary (wait, what?), humane, decorous, skillful, adroit, pretty, beauteous, lovely, pulchritudinous, able, amiable, tasty man.
Just so we're all clear on this, here's a list:
- Had the most beautiful voice that ever existed.
- Wrote delightful music.
- Was 1/4 of the best band ever.
- Was the "Focal Point" of the best band ever (and then some).
- Learned his passion in the good old-fashioned school of loverboys.
- Dressed as a certain historical figure and therefore promoted an all-round greater understanding of human culture.
- Along with this, he provoked interest in many other historical peoples through mention in song. Making the world a better place.
- Was on the first manned mission to Mars.
- Made people happy.
- Promoted fitness through the extollation of cycling.
- Popularised the consumption of red wine (good for the heart), vodka (is low in those chemical thingies that make you fat), and - of course - champagne (it's bubbly!).
- Had very nice legs.
- Had cats (and kissed them, and hugged them, and showered love on them, I speculate).
- Wrote the song Bohemian Rhapsody, whose video we can thank for starting a craze.
- Wrote delightful music.
- Wore interesting jewellery.
- Had the most beautiful voice that ever existed.
- Is responsible for many people's conversion to loving chest hair. This aids in the fight against sissy-boys like Orlando Bloom who have fake-looking oil-y muscles in certain movies called "Troy".
- Also responsible for several belevod video games, including "Prince of Persia" and "Katamari Damacy". I think the second one actually has a case... scary...
- Beguiled people with his outrageous costumes.
- Had excellent taste in gardens.
- Is Little Darling Bee's favourite.
- Had exactly the right idea of what a concert should be.
- Saved my life.
- Wrote delightful music.
- Made the world a better place.
All things listed are based on 100% true facts (and also extrapolated from song lyrics).
I can't tell you if he's in paradise or not because I haven't been there. I HAVE been to Hell, though (I live within driving distance of the place) and I can tell you that there are no Freddie Mercuries there. There IS a bar. And a dumpster.

Freddie is in HEAVEN. He's probably up there now telling God what Bohemian Rhapsody was all about.

Speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody, I bet Freddie's asking a choir conductor to teach the choir of angels to sing the opera section of that song, as well as Somebody To Love and Let Me Live right now for one of his Heaven gigs. I also bet he auditioned several musicians for his gigs and selected John Entwhistle (bass guitar) & Keith Moon (drums)(formerly from the Who), and John Lennon & George Harrison (guitar & vocals)(formerly of from the Beatles).

But I thought Freddie Mercury WAS God.

Freddie is NOT in Heaven! Every real Queen fan knows that Freddie faked his death to pursue his life-long dream of driving a public transit bus in Edinburgh. Here's the original press release, by QZ's own investigative reporter, fatty:
