Like I said before, its impossible to have "a greatest singer"...but one thing about Fred's voice is that I never get tired of it...some artist that I listen to, after a while, their voice gets very annoying...but I swear, his voice is soooooo soothing, you never get tired of it....THATS THE TRUTH AT LEAST FROM MY POINT OF VIEW!!!
I agree...

Cheers
Adding on...

Well I agree with you on the point that you NEVER get tired of his voice...but I'd have to say that he IS the greatest singer...

Cheers

Freddie is the BEST!!!!
Freddie definitely had a beautifull voice he had a range of four octaves, which is quite amazing.
he put his heart and soul into a song, in my opinion i believe he had one of the best rock voices as i never tire of him singing.

I agree. Freddie's voice is VERY soothing. That's the first impression I got when first hearing him, round age 5 or 6. I could listen to him forever! His voice is so beautiful;)

re. Frank Sinatra... IMO, is/was extremely overrated.
I'm happy to see you add "IMO".

However, may I suggest you buy a copy of Sinatra at the Sands? I think you might also be surprised to hear his versions of "All the Way", "A Cottage for Sale", and the September of My Years album.
I've heard much of Sinatra's catalog over the years and while he has power and decent range, I still believe him to be overrated.

As I said before, it is only my opinion, and I wouldn't put anyone down for liking Sinatra - millions of people do. However, I don't enjoy his music and don't see him as the 'greatest' singer. I feel like if you've heard one song of his, you've heard another because all he's offering is his voice.

Freddie, on the other hand, puts emotion into his singing. Again, and always - IMO. "Freddie" comes through, not just Freddie's voice. Does that make sense?

I love other singers as well for the same reason. That's why I agreed with Dean Martin being good. When he sings, you can hear his smile. Louis Armstrong - same thing. Personality. Barbra Streisand - power, range, emotion. Even some Linda Ronstadt. And Elvis - there was almost always a hint of playfulness to his voice. I'm sure there are others, but their names aren't coming to me now.

What makes a singer great for me is one whose singing moves me. Whether I laugh, tear up, get mad or think, doesn't matter. A beautiful voice alone doesn't do it - I want to FEEL something when I hear it.
"The others don't like my interviews. And frankly, I don't care much for theirs." ~ Freddie Mercury
