...time goes by so quickly...

in may 1998, radio FFH in frankfurt ran a competition to sing the solo for "bohemian rhapsody". the lucky winners were able to meet brian the other day in the studio and recieve private guitar lessons from him!
i was one of the lucky winners.

the whole thing took place in the basement of the radiostation's building in frankfurt.
i just re-discovered the recordings that were made that day - hope you will enjoy them!

what you will hear is basically brian and myself jamming together. brian is actually humming along the lyrics, as well as doing a little solo on his lovely tiny portable electric-guitar (actually it was rick parfitt who broke it the other day on "gute nacht gottschalk" on german TV!!! but that's another story.. :) )

i remember brian being quite surprised when i asked for "see what a fool i've been"! i guess he didn't really expect that from a 17-years-old.. :)

i assume he didn't perform the song in public for many many years - and now hearing it again, i find it quite interesting that he actually sung the "16 coaches long"-lyrics... these lyrics weren't used in the studio version of SWAFIB, only live occasionally..

anyway - enjoy listening! :)
