I watched it like 5 times today, wow. Wouldn't it be something if the Freddie projection accually started to like talk or say something like "Hello Darlings, I'm back!" and then you see everyone in the crowd like pass out haha

Yeah I understand you there, it's like he comes back after nearly 15 years of disappearing and then he's just there, on stage, and your thinking... "huh, I swear he was gone...we all have been lied too" or something like that. Ofcourse that won't ever happen, he is really gone and he is in a safe place now, no more in pain.

EDIT: Actually, maybe I'm wrong. Just watched it again and can see them all looking up as if they're watching a screen. So, I guess people like Hutton, Freestone and Hannes (or is it Rudi?) could've been guests. And then someone stages this band with Freddie stunt. It's so hard to tell, now!
Of course, the only possible tell tale sign is the shot of Hannes which(torpedo twin no.1!) is used twice.

Yes indeed - I mainly refer to the current implementation of it which is mostly digital. Rotoscoping is an old, old favourite of us moviemakers.

Great video, they shoulda put the other guys in it too (I mean - as they are now. It would've been interesting).

It's really incredible how they did this.
