The Queenzone Chat Room

Hi people, this thread is meant to remind you that Queenzone has a java chat room. You find the link on the main page. The chat room loads in an extra window which allows people to surf the net without opening an additional browser.

To use the chat room you need to have java enabled in your browser.

Wait for the chat room to load

Do NOT click on "connect", the chat room opens automatically.

When you see the server messages, type a nickname into the bar and hit enter.

ATTENTION:
Some of us cannot use the link on Queenzone anymore but there is an alternative to join the QZ chat room through java

Just click on the link and wait for the chat room to load.

You can also enter the Queenzone chat room via the mirc server irc.webchat.org. Join #queenzone. For more information visit the "chat room" section of the "questions" page. If you need help contact us via the contact link on top of each page.

Everybody is welcome to visit the chat room. We don't have many rules, everything goes as long as you don't hurt other peoples' feelings.

The Fan Club chat room is virtually gone after Jacky deleted the link on her page and some regulars moved over to Queenzone. Of course, we are delighted about all newcomers, just give yourselves a little time to get used to the more chaotic Queenzone chat. You will see that it's fun to chat in QZ.

Your valentine. I need your help. I'm totally blind and I was wondering if you know of a speech program called jaws? That's what I have on my computer and I'd love to join the chat room. However, I don't know if java works with my screen reader or which version to get. Also, do I need mirc?

Queen Mercury, I am not familiar with screen readers but apparently there is an extra programme that allows JAWS users to chat in mIrc rooms.

I think mIrc is better to use than Java, anyway. Java is for people who shy away from installing a chat client on their PC - for example when they chat from school or work :) I do not know if Java works with screen readers.

I hope you manage to install this software, it would be cool to have you. I am always amazed about blind people who overcome all obstacles and surf in the net. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be.

Thanks your valentine. I will install this program soon so that I can join the chat room. Since it seems like we are the only two people in this thread, would you mind swapping emails and stuff? I think we could become good friends. Yes. Sometimes it's hard to overcome the opsticals, but I do a pretty good job of it I think.

and who tells that queenzone NOT brings people together hm?

Hi there folks, This is Alison here in Edinburgh, many moons ago I used to be a chatter in the official queen chat room, and I was wondering if anyone knows where some of the old chatters have got to, I'd particularly love to find Wes, from america (sorry cant remember his surname) and a few others I'd like to trace for old times sake and to wish them all a Happy new year from Scotland.
if anyone knows who Wes is then can they give him a shout that I'm looking for him. my queen chat nick was Taylormayde.

Hey Ali, remember me The_hero/Thijs_? The last time I saw Wes active was about a year ago, he said he was doing fine back then, working in a store where they sell instruments and he was really happy there, I once got his email addy but I lost it.

DO you know if Kaz and Gaz are doing alright, would be great to see you back in the chatroom again, as I would like to see people again that were there around 5 - 6 years ago.. WOW time really flies.

Anyway I know you haven't posted since half a year ago (even longer) but if you could come back to the chat again and bring some others with you, then that would be great :-)
