THIS IS A MESSAGE FOR everyone who said nice things about my "art". AND YOU BETTER DAMN WELL READ IT ALL !
First of all, Ms. Carol, you are good. I would show you how I drew when I was 13, but I actually did a smashing job of lobbing the whole lot into a dumpster (my mom doesn't know...). You will just have to trust me that you are MUCH better than when I was 13.
Everyone here is mostly the reason I started drawing on paper again.
I've only started drawing on paper on a regular-ish basis again since the time I drew the "Freddie attacking John with hair-spray" thingy. Mostly because as I got older, I read all that stuff about modern art where something's got to be a philosophical, snooty "idea" to count. Which depressed me, to say the least, and is probably the reason why I've never considered art as something I could "do".
But HERE I don't have to draw something nasty that's a comment on the disconnection of modern life or on war or something.
You guys are an inspiration. You like things that are pretty just because they're pretty. More people should do that.
And as for compliments, I am forever suspicious of their credibility. This is because people were telling me that I "drew well" when I drew glorified stick people.
Oh, and since I made you sit through all that (and if you didn't, shame on you - you don't deserve to see the next things)...

To begin with, thank you so much for the compliment on my work. I did the same as you, I threw all of my old drawings in the trash.
When you said you doubted the credibility of the compliments- you pretty much summed up exactly how I felt. People used to tell me I was good. So there I am, feeling all proud, and when I go take a look at the "phenomenal" work I made when I was younger- I see it's extremely mediocre. They made me cringe, and the ones that didn't get thrown in the trash got flushed down the toilet.
And your Queen comic was { insert all synonyms for fantastic here }. Believe me, I'm NOT being an ass kisser when I say this! :D
First, your sense of humor is hilarious! I swear, it had me grinning from ear to ear ( okay, that's not physically possible, but you get it.. ;-)!
Second, the detail is incredible! Your proportions are absolutely perfect, and the faces look beautiful.
Third... well, I'd probably repeat everything I've said before, but the point is- your work is the best I've ever seen. Ever. :D
