How come Freddie's verse doesn't rhyme in the same way as Roger's and Brian's? I really like the song, but this thing always bothers me... Does anybody know the story behind this? Is it a mistake?

But can you find me another example where the different verses doesn't rhyme in the same way? I mean; they DO rhyme, it's just that Freddie's verse follow a different rhyming-rule. Very rare.

its poetry, doll, it just doesnt work to pick it apart and dissect by asking questions like that. as long as it sounds proper, things dont have to rhyme at all.

I am of a different opinion on this one. just because it is a very special case. Things don't have to rhyme, sure, but I was curious if anyone knew of a backgroundstory on how this came to be.

Well, if it's the three of them singing, who cares if the styles (of writing) are different? Just because the first is different certainly doesn't mean it'll be classed as a mistake. What an insult to the song. It may not have been planned this way, I'm not sure, but I don't think it really matters. I really love the track.

Not intended as an insult, since I really like the song too. But it's like you make an agreement with your audience in the first verse and then you break the agreement in the next verses. That's a mistake they could have corrected, I think.

The BIG question is, who wrote the lyrics. Is there only one writer, or is this a collaboration between many lyricists. Further, we don't know when lyrics were written. Perhaps some of the lyrics come from mid-80's and some were re-written after Freddie's death. Just a thought...
