Hey everyone!
I was just wondering, does anyone understand the middle of the "I Want to Break Free" video.
The beginning and the end are easy. The boys are dressed up as girls, but once it gets to the middle with all the dancers underground, I get confused. What is the meaning of it? Just wondering.
Besides, dosen't Roger make a cute girl?

Yeah, Roger makes a cute girl, alright! XD
I dunno, babe. I think its just fabulousity, really. Freddie's intrests oozing out: very artistic and sort of ballet infused.... senual, but still sort of like it was inspired by a painting... or maybe that he could have seen it in theater or ballet that he fancied. I really dont know. I just know Freddie was the kind to get all deeply into his own ... erm, unique, ideas, like, "yes-- and then I shall ROLL OVER all of their twisting bodies-- it'll be beautiful!"

Did you also get a load of Brian in a Pink nightgown and curlers? WOW!!
Poor Deaky had to be the old lady.
It's like an episode of the "Golden Girls" gone bad!!

They all looked really cute in that video! Especially Roger! *sigh* He looked like alicia silverstone! He's so beautiful!
Everyone would understand the ballet part if they've ever seen what gays do when they are in cults..... woah. I've seen it. Woah. Very strange.
To me that really is the "breaking free-part". Roger, John and Brian are really fun supporting Freddie in the crossdressing, but in this part it's really about Freddie's sexuality.
I find the section with miners very amusing. Freddie trying to be macho with his leather trousers after prancing about with a hoover!
It's the Freddie character's daydream of breaking free: She would shave her moustache and became a fabulous male ballet dancer. Simple as that.
Losing the moustache indicates that she converted to Judaism when she married and the religious ties were so strong that she even grew a Jewish woman moustache. So when she breaks free, that's gone.

every time i see that picture i laugh my ass off! and i want to see it again. could someone please give me a link?
Maybe the ballet thing was supposed to symbolise Freddie "breaking free" from the stereo type of the rock 'n' roll singer?
