It was 1979, Nathan's first time in London and he was attending Imperial College. It was a great school and Nathan loved the music room the best. He loved to make music-him and his band The Sparks (yeah i know-same band as last time). It was a Friday night and a lot of students had gone home, but Nathan just went to the music room with his acoustic guitar. Nathan didn't know it, but tonight was the night that Queen was going to be playing at the college, and in the hallway the band had their own crisis.
F-Alright guys, we have a big problem. We have no opening act and we're going on stage anytime now.
R-Don't you know someone you can call?
B-Yeah
F-No, no, they'll never make it in time.
The guys started walking down the hallway thinking of what they could do, when they came across the musci room and heard music. Yeah, someone was singing and playing guitar. Freddie called the guys over and walked into the room.
N-Oh hey..I didn't realize-hey you're Freddie Mercury..and..
F-Yeah we're Queen. We're performing here tonight. I noticed you were playing-You make music?
N-Well yeah...
F-Great! You have a band?
N-Yeah-The Sparks
F-Whee are they?
N-Well they're all at home I guess.
F-Well you see we have a little problem.We don't have an opening act for tonight and we could really use someone in a band. Can't you call your buddies and have them come over here?
N-Yeah,but they would never get here in time. When do you guys go on?
R-*looks at his watch* 10 minutes.
F-I'll have my limo driver pick all of them up
N-You can do that?
F- pftt.please-Well of course I can do that, I'm Freddie Mercury
N-Well alright!
F-Perfect
The guys got their five minutes later
Bm1-Hey Nathan Whats up?
N-umm, we're going to be an opening act for Queen tonight.
Bm2-*jaw dropped* Are you serious?
Bm3-Well ok! Yeah! How long we got?
N-5 minutes
Bm1-I can't believe this! This is awesome
F-*walking back in the room* You guys ready?
N-Bm1-2-3-Yep!
Bm3-Let's do this!
N-Alright let's go!
The guys walked on stage, They were'n't famous or anything, but the crowd was going wild
N-*finishing the song* Thank You!
F-*walks on stage* That was the Sparks with Not Turning Back! You guys were great.
Queen continued their concert. At the end they walked backstage to talk.
F-Hey Nathan-the Sparks I want to thank you guys you were awesome and I really appreciate what you did for us.
N-Oh no problem-we enjoyed it!
F-sooo, that's why I want you guys to finish the rest of the tour with us.
N-Are you serious? Oh my god! Thanks so much!
F-Oh it's our pleasure.
So..In the end The Sparks do end up finishing the tour with Queen and stay good friends with them. They end up making it pretty big and known worldwide
