You can tell your parents:
"...I'm 30 year olds and still fucked up.
See, being nosey and overprotective didn't work."
I think I'm gonna do that when I'm 30. :)

To the original poster - applying for a job in 5 places isn't enough. Your mom might be pushing you so you see what the real world is like now that you're out of school. You can't say, 'well, I did what I had to do, now I'll sit back and wait'. It just doesn't work that way. You have to keep going out there to get what you want/need. It might just be her way of preparing you.
As for nosy, parents are paranoid where their kids' safety is concerned. And we also have better memories than most people think. We were teens, too. We KNOW what you're doing because we did it also, and that scares the hell out of us.
Some go to an extreme, but mostly, pushy and nosy parents are just trying to keep their kids alive and happy. Give them a break next time. They're doing it out of love.
Good Point! I was just in a really bad mood the day I posted this and my mom just pushed me over the edge and I needed to vent. Thanks for listening and your insight. I'm going to keep on looking and putting my name in at places. Thanks, you are the best!! :-)

I know that I told you guys that you were the best, and I just wanted you to know that I really mean it! You all listened and gave me some good advice and that's what I needed. You all are great friends, even though I never met you all in person. I took this weekend to get away and spent it at the drag races, my second love. Queen is my first love, and by the way, that's all I listened to on the way to and from the race track. That's why I haven't been on much to chat the past two days. It felt good to just get away and not worry about my Mom breathing down my back. Now, it's time to continue looking and putting in applications. Hopefully, the right job will turn up. Wish me luck! *hugs and kisses from the May-niac!*
if this isnt pushy, then i can go to hell: my mom recently put a time on how long i can be on the internet! only 1 hour a day. so i have to do 20 minute segments of time! oh crap i just went over the time. ill post some more at lunch, see how sad this is?!

Awww! What a bummer. My mom was and actually still is the same way. I know how you feel.

i ran out of time just now.
In your parents defence, having a child graduate HS is a huge change. With any luck, they will settle down as you settle into your adult life.
What kind of car do you run at the strip?
I am hoping to get my car into good enough shape to have a little fun. Hoping to break into the 13s with my daily driven Taurus SHO. My true passion is the road course. Sadly, I can't afford to get the car on the track this summer. Next summer, I am planning to schedule a few weekends at a couple different tracks.
Best of luck to you!
Mike

I dislike my dad. That's just the way it is. Sometimes things seem normal between us or whatever, but deep down I still haven't forgiven him for things. I just can't forgive him. It's a bad way to be, especially when I'm still a teenager and having to live in the same house as him. But unfortunately that's the way things are.
ME!!!!! Im so sick of them! I wish i didnt have to live with them! They are soooo annoying! especially my dad! urgghhHHhhh! They are pissed off about ever possible thing! FUCK! They are even sick of me going here everyday! I wish i went to college alreay! just three more years!! urghhhh! I know what you mean. Forgiveness isn't just like "that". It takes time, and sometimes it's not even a possibility. And that thing of "you have to love your family is complete and utter bullshit. :(

Same here, man!! Same here! :( When I tell my mom I'm gonna go live alone when I get older ( about 20 ) she's like, "No!! You're not responsible! If you go, I'll go with you!"
And she's soooooo fucking nosy! X0 The other day, I was looking at "Queen comics" ( ya know, those ones on queenonline ). I always tilt the computer to my direction, so she doesn't look at my conversations. So she tilted her head and saw the comics I was reading. I exited and said, "Mom, don't look at my stuff"
And she goes with that awful, crow-like voice, "What are you looking at?!"
"Nothing, mom!"
"What is ittt?!!!!"
"Nothing!! Just comics!"
Then she says in the most solemn voice, as if someone died:
"Is it.. pornography?"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I was devastated she'd suspect that of me. I never, ever did those sort of things. And I had no plan to.
Can't wait till I leave. >x(
