what application did they use for the basic drawing?

2. Etch-A-Sketch
3. A Blackboard and Chalk

Oh come on. Anybody defending this way this looks is nuts. You can basically recreate this effect in Photoshop fairly quickly.

It looks cheap and tacky.

I think this probably is the official sleeve, but I don't know why this is so much of a surprise.

It is the same image of Freddie as on the official website for this release, which has been up for ages, just with a white background :

I think they could have done better but after looking at it a few times I think it will grow on me.

Actually just realised this is from the official album site, anyway it is the same image that has been there ages, but in black.
