Hmmmm...didn't realize it was so disliked...I played the hell out of that album and eagerly awaited their second album...I loved the first, Queen II even more so .

Really good album IMO, I like its rawness. There's no song I particularly dislike on it.
Recently I gave the Queen debut LP a spin. And to my surprise, I never really listen to Queen anymore, I really really really liked the album. All tracks.

Young is a relative term and intended in the lifespan of the band, although Freddie was the oldest band member and I think given this and the fact that Robert Plant and Pete Townshend were in their twenties when the Led Zep and Who debuts, respectively, were released negates your point.[/QUOTE]

Actually, it is my second favourite Queen album as well. After Queen II. What's not to love? (Except perhaps the instrumental version of Seven Seas of Rhye.)
Love the songs, wish it had better production though. Still dreaming of the day C_Matt sinks his teeth into it.

What the heck is "hating to love" an album, anyway? You love it, but hate yourself for it, like it's a guilty pleasure? I love to love it, myself. ;)
The only thing I hate about Queen 1 is the sound of the drums.
After a quick errand run, I plan on listening to this album today (loud) , as I haven't listened to it for awhile . It is on my iPod though . I'm going to try to figure out a reason why I would hate it .
Doubtful I will find one .,,.it is after all the album that made me a fan of Queen all those years ago .
