...the similarity between 'Breakthru' and Don Henley's 'Boys of Summer'?

I'm shocked that I only spotted it half an hour ago, after all these years.

Tell me I'm not the only one who spotted it!

Yeah, it's in that sort of Road rock type genre, Breakthru has much more energy and power though- much as I like Hneley, the synths are a bit souless.

Yes, I noticed. Quite shocking. Also the BBC had an "ident" film (the little clips before a programme starts like the disabled guy dancing in his wheelchair) that was a direct lift from the opening bars of "Doin'Alright".
What about Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "Fat Bottomed Girls." Sing part of the the refrain from the Twisted Sister record and substitute part of FBG:

We're not gonna take it - no we ain't gonna take it - take me to them dirty ladies every time....there is no change in the melody...
I think the rhythm section just fell over...
Yup, I noticed the Don Henley connection when The Miracle CD came out in 89. Definitely similar (if not the same) chord sequence in the chorus
