Ever heard of manic depression?

There you have it.
And indeed not-so-nice experiences like a divorce and the death of some people can have an uncomprehendable influence on someone that already suffers manic depression.
thanks for the article. it's all a clear picture now. :)

Adam Baboola, I just meant all these questions dont seem relevent to why we all love them so much...[/QUOTE]

I'd have to disagree completely. These things are what make Brian who he is. These things are relevant for that reason alone because this is what can fuel the music. You're not interested in this stuff. But just because you think that way doesn't mean you should look down on those who do.

Peace,
Adam.
I belive I read somewhere -- related to this whole suicidal/depression period -- that Brian contemplated driving off a bridge or something...it was written in an interview somewhere.

oh my gosh! that's horrible! and scary!! thank God he decided to go to treatment! :(
Thanks to all the post-ers who actually answered the question and led me to some interesting articles. :*)

I am always left wondering why people post just to complain that they don't like the topic . . . blah blah blah. If they don't like the topic, don't read it, don't answer it. It's that simple.

i honestly can't believe i am reading this reply. Brian is from a middle-class-reasonably-well-heeled-background, and so he has to deal with a few of life's knocks...big fucking deal!!! this kinda topic really makes me fekkin puke.

1. i lost all four grandparents in a two-year gap and a best friend when i was still in high school.
2. in the 90s my wife's mother died of cancer, then we found out my wife had cancer...then my dad gets cancer...and ok they both have to go through some harrowing treatment and times...but both survived

get real people - we all have ordeals and bereavements - it's called life!!! i hate the fuss made over how suicidal closeted, spoilt people can feel whent hey have to deal with reality...i never got suicidal...why the fuck should we feel sorry for them?

I DONT, look down on those who do, in fact I read the article (very well written BTW) and I KNOW things like this infulence the music, but its just me that while im actually LISTENING to the music, the reason I love the guys in Queen, I like to seperate them and just enjoy the song. I should have worded my above comment better, sorry, it's a weird line for me. What I mean is that while im listening to the songs, I dont think "oh this must be because this happened and thats deffinitly what the song is about" accept perhaps the acception of maybe mother love I think about Freddie's death but my mind doesnt say this is deffinitly what the song is about, and the songs are why I love them. I know I might not be making sense, but..well, thats just what I feel right now, sorry.

Somepeople react differently, and thank you for showing all the sensitivity of a blunt axe, you ass.
Cool dude. Now we understand better.

Brenksi's comment however is just weird. Now, in general, it doesn't matter who you are or what's happened to you. What IS important is that it happened to YOU and it affected you in such and such a way. That's what you worry about and that's what matters the most. But to pass on a comment about how you have no sympathy for those ("suicidal closeted, spoilt people") kind of people in those situations is weird. I just don't understand that kind of attitude.

Peace,
Adam.
