I'm too stupid for Internet slang. I prefer English. And English English if at all possible. I mean, I just don't understand fw3dd13y and kw33n. They confuse me to no end. And what about b0H3m13n r@!ps0dxx ? Weird.

Man, I know what you mean. I know some people who talk like that, and you figure, musn't it take even extra time to replace actual letters with numbers and symbols and all of that junk? When I try to type one sentence in slang like that, it takes me almost three times as long than if I just simply used all-natural letters.

Yeah, that is true... xD
It bugs me when people lable other people.
But it bugs me more when people label themselves.

What a fecking bunch of bullshit
I know.
Nearly 14 years old, into all sorts of rock bands - Boomtown Rats, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, all sorts. Need I mention Queen?!
Some months ago, I was going through this deppressing "goth" phase. Looking back, I see how ridiculous it was to label myself like that. Phew, thank God that's over with... -_-'
I made a lousy goth anyway! xD

The point in writing "h8" in instead of "hate", for example, is going faster. But like KQ840 pointed out, for the most of these slangs you take much longer than you'd take if you just wrote some decent English. And this is an international forum, where you can find many people who are still learning English. Can't you show some respect for those people?
For me, the short-hand-ness gives the typer a weird accent. For example, Sony decided to name some of their somethings "Liv", which I'm assuming is supposed to be said like "Live", but I think "Liv", as in "Liv Tyler".

Also, when I see "lyk" I read "leak" or "leek" as in "After eating the leek, I had to take a leak".

I tnhik it may be taht wlohe tnihg wrehre you can raed tihs, but I tihnk it has to do wtih how lnog the wrdos are, too. So, wehn you tkae aawy leetrts, cohperenisomn wlil sfeufr.

Woo. That was fun to type ^.
Grunger here...
