Bob Dylan Fans

Hey, just thought it would be great to make a thread dedicated to the greatest singer/songwriter of our time(In my opinion of course!). I dare anyone who is unfamilliar with his work to listen to "The Freewheelin'" "Bringing It All Back Home" "Highway 61 Revisited" "Blonde On Blonde" and "Blood On The Tracks" and not tell me, that he isnt the greatest :)! His lyrical style and voice truly brings a lot to his music. Don't listen to those who say he is a terrible singer! Even now in his later years..He's still amazing. "Love And Theft" beats anything released within the past decade, and I hope "Modern Times" will as well!

There's a neon light ablaze in this green smoky haze, laughter down on Elizabeth Street. It felt outa place, my foot in his face, but he should-a stayed where his money was green.

Finally someone with better sense than Mr.Jingles. I love Dylan too. So do most people who know what they're talking about.

I still give Bruce the singer/songwriter nod, though. That said, Bob is the grandfather of it all.

Awesome, glad to see some fans with great musical sense/taste! I agree, anyone who knows anything of music appreciates Dylan. Haha, yes, Springsteen is good and his lp "Born To Run" is just epic! I feel as if Paul Simon(Especiall his work with Arthur Garfunkel) can be seriously considerd for best singer/songwriter. Simon and Garfunkel were the poppier folk singers of the time(Dylan gives a nod to both of them in his cover of "The Boxer" on his second double lp "Self-Portrait"). Folk music in general in the 60s were great...Enough of that though! This is about Dylan :p! Did anyone get to hear the previews of "Modern Times" before they were taken off? I got a chance to, and it sounds just as good as "Time Out Of Mind" and "Love And Theft". Can't wait!

What happened to "Greetings From Asbury Park, NJ" and "The Wild, The Innocent& The E-Street Shuffle"? Without them, we wouldn't have "Blinded By The Light", "4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)" or one of my personal favorites, "Rosalita".

BTR was Bruce's breakthru hit, but not his first record.

For my money, Greetings and Wild and Innocent are two my faves.

Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 cracks me up! xD

Like A Rolling Stone is such an epic song, although I can see why one might find it funny. Rainday Women 12 and 35 is quite hillarious as its ment to be, its about Women and how scornful they can be(Many mistakenly think its about drugs...)

I wouldn't call myself a fan as such, but I will admit that he has written some great songs and so deserves to be the legend he is. His songs have certainly been a chapter in my bible while learning to play guitar. Lousy voice but that matters little.
