I would personally like to see a board along the lines of PHPBB.
I also think that people should not be able to get their accounts deleted.
Just a personal opinion though.

Everybody says these things happen every now and then, so people aren't learning from what happened, but just carry on blindly. I haven't ever seen such a poorly maintained and moderated board in my life.

For a Forum as popular as Queenzone, it isn't very well managed. Look around. There are no rules, no order. People just can do whatever they want, wonderful place indeed.

It depends a bit what you mean with moderation
Deleting accounts when people (want to) leave is not like a ban or so, I consider it as a service (too much, maybe?), an answer on the needs of certain people

about a phpbb, that discussion is indeed a thing to consider by the owners/founders, whatever you call it. We should not forget it is in fact Richard who set up this site, I think 10 years ago, or longer (time flies), so it is his decission, who doesnt like it, try to convince him

So you really think that Haole deserved to be banned? I really do not recall why he was banned. Do you? My best recollection is that he called the wrong sacred cow a cunt and others defended her, but I might be mixing this up with other QZ arguments.
Fortunately, QZ is a relatively unmoderated site. Imagine if GB was banned (potentially a convincing argument could have been made for his banning)-- QZ would have a worse reputation than QOL
